Maple Leaf Self Storage has been serving Canadian families and businesses for 40 years. Maple Leaf Self Storage is a leading national self storage developer, owner and real estate manager with over 16,000 tenants in our 15 stores in Western Canada. Maple Leaf Self Storage – Assistant Store Manager – United – Coquitlam
We are currently seeking a strong, experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager for our Maple Leaf Self Storage United store.
United is a modern, mid-sized property with approximately 1,000 units. The two-level property is centrally located on United Boulevard with excellent exposure to highway and commuter traffic. It is a very attractive property with a large bright retail office, state-of-the-art security and operating systems, a wide array of locker types and sizes and a solid commercial and residential tenant base.
The Assistant Store Manager must have excellent leadership and team building skills and the ability to inspire, coach and support their team. You will work closely with the Store Manager and together will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day business operation, including maximizing locker revenues and retail sales, minimizing delinquencies, ensuring exceptional customer service, growing referral business and maintaining a clean, well-maintained and professional looking storage facility. Much of the focus will be on growing the building’s revenues and occupancy. This will require you to implement strong sales processes and to keep abreast of the competitive marketplace so that we can pro-actively manage standard rates and revenues. The Assistant Store Manager will also be expected to collaborate with the head office sales and marketing team and other Maple Leaf store teams in areas such as marketing, leasing and business development.
Our ideal candidate is very sales-focused, possesses excellent customer service and organizational skills and has a solid background in hospitality, sales and/or property management. A background in self storage is not required. The ideal candidate has held leadership and supervisory positions in the past and has a proven track record of success. The candidate must have strong management and communication skills and the passion to grow and develop the self storage business. The candidate must be very comfortable working with computers and be proficient with Microsoft Office. Familiarization with accounts receivable collections and strong people skills is extremely important. Knowledge and experience with basic building maintenance and operations is very desirable.

This is a full time, five day a week position. Workdays are typically four weekdays and one weekend day. There is some scheduling flexibility. Our offices are typically open from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday to Saturday and 10:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday. Our offices are closed on statutory holidays.

Customer Service Solutions Specialist (Full Time) – North Vancouver, BC (1 position available)
We are looking for a quality person to join our exciting and successful business as a Solutions Specialist. This individual will work at Maple Leaf properties located in the North Vancouver and West Vancouver areas and will require access to a reliable vehicle.
Capilano is a modern, mid-sized property strategically located near Marine Drive and Capilano Road in the City of North Vancouver. It is surrounded by many new high-rise residential towers and is easily accessed by commuters. It is a very attractive property with a bright office, abundant covered loading, spacious staging area, and state-of-the-art security systems. The building contains over 850 units, with a wide array of locker sizes and configurations. The property opened in January 2021 and our tenants absolutely love that all units are situated on one level.
If you are a sales-oriented, self-starter, who believes in making a personal connection and who enjoys problem-solving, this could be your next role. As a Solutions Specialist, one of your main roles will be to work with our clients to find the very best solutions for their needs. This could include finding the perfect unit size, providing information on how to properly pack and store items, and connecting them with movers and other resources. You would also work with our existing clients to ensure that their storage experience is positive and memorable. Our goal is to ‘help people create space in their lives’.
Our business uses technology extensively, so comfort using MS Office and web-based software would be an asset. Effective communication skills and the ability to work with a small team is essential.
What you’ll get to do:
- Work with our clients to recommend the very best solutions for their storage needs
- Provide outstanding customer service in person, over the phone and by email
- Follow-up on inquiries, confirm reservations, rent storage units, prepare rental documentation and update client database
- Sell/upsell high-quality retail merchandise such as boxes, locks and other moving supplies
- Complete daily administrative duties and reports
- Collect rental payments and follow-up on outstanding accounts
- Perform daily inspections of rental units to ensure that they are clean, properly locked and client ready
- Maintain property appearance by cleaning spaces, sweeping, removing debris, organizing moving carts, etc.
